Academy Park All-Delco Jerry Lanier had another typical Jerry Lanier kind of game, with 179 yards and four touchdowns.

Jerry Lanier, RB, Academy Park: The All-Delco senior had a field day in the Knights’ 39-0 shellacking of Penn Wood, rushing for 179 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries. What else can be said other than, well, this is the best running back in Delaware County, and I suggest you see him while you still can.

Evan Butts, TE/WR/DE, Episcopal Academy: The county’s leading receiver — and arguably its best player — had another huge day, with five catches for 98 yards. One of those Ryan Whayland passes went for a touchdown, and Butts also caused trouble on defense, scooping up a fumble and returning it for another Episcopal score. At this point, Butts can’t be stopped.

Jabree Savoy, DB, Ridley: Of the Green Raiders’ five interceptions of Radnor quarterbacks, Savoy had a pair, including a 50-yard return to the house. Savoy leads the team in picks with four. Sure, the Green Raiders were heavy favorites, but they needed a big statement kind of win as they cling to a thread in the District One Class AAAA playoff race. Savoy and the Green Raiders defense allowed only 72 yards in the 42-0 rout.

Gabe Cordes, DL, Cardinal O’Hara: In his first game back from injury, Cordes played a huge part in the Lions’ emotional come-from-behind overtime win over Bonner-Prendergast.  Cordes blocked a pair of extra points, including one in overtime that allowed the Lions offense the chance to score and win the game, which is precisely what happened. Honorable mention goes to WR Thadd Smith, who snared the game-tying touchdown pass, and running back JT Blyden, who scored in OT that propelled the Lions to victory after Steve Weyler nailed the game-winning extra point.

Chris Rossiter, QB, Upper Darby: Rossiter is doing it all for the Royals, and he showcased his immense talent in the team’s 41-0 romp over Strath Haven. The senior signal caller completed 7 of 8 pass, with TD throws to De’Andre Pendergrass and Justin Venditti. Rossiter also rushed for a game-high 104 yards on six carries, to lead the Royals to their fifth straight win.
